Market prices in 2026
These are ranges Hong Kong web design firms publish online, not anyone’s quote. Sources are listed at the end of this page.
| One-page site | about HK$3,000–8,000 |
|---|---|
| Basic brochure site (about 5 pages) | HK$3,000–8,000 |
| Company site (8–15 pages) | HK$8,000–20,000 |
| Basic online shop (under 50 products) | HK$15,000–35,000 |
| Each extra language | about 20–30% of the design fee |
| Yearly maintenance | about 10–20% of the build cost |
What drives the price
The number of pages is only part of it. What usually makes two quotes differ several times over:
- Who prepares the words and photos: handing over finished copy costs far less than having it written and being coached on photos.
- How many languages: Hong Kong customers often expect Chinese and English, and some quotes charge English separately.
- Who updates it later: calling the designer for every price change, or signing in and changing it yourself.
- Whether there is a catalogue: a few services fit on one page; dozens of products with new ones every week need a page each and an admin.
- Whether customers pay online: checkout, shipping and stock are online-shop work, and the price follows.
What you pay after launch
Most sites cost something every year: domain renewal, hosting, the security certificate and small changes. Some quotes fold these into a monthly or yearly fee; some make the first year free and charge from the second.
When comparing quotes, look at year one and every year after separately. That is the real total.
Three questions to ask before you sign
Get these answered and there is little left to argue about later:
- From the second year, how much is it each year, and what does it cover?
- Does changing a price or a photo cost extra, and how long does it take?
- If we stop working together, who owns the domain, the content and the site?
Which kind suits a small shop
If you take most orders on WhatsApp or Instagram and offer a handful of services, a one-page site is usually enough: customers see what you do, your prices and your work, and reach you in one tap.
If you have dozens of products and new ones often, choose a site with a catalogue and an admin, so you add and remove items the same day.
If customers must pay online, an online-shop platform such as SHOPLINE or Shopify may suit better; count its monthly and transaction fees too.
Our prices, as an example
Our prices are on the site, no phone number needed first: One-page is HK$2,900, a fixed price, ready in two weeks with Chinese and English both written. Catalogue is from HK$6,600, with a product catalogue and a Chinese admin that works on a phone, in four to six weeks.
After launch it is from HK$280 a month (or from HK$3,000 a year) for hosting, domain renewal, daily backups and one small change a month. You change words and prices yourself at no charge. The domain is registered in your account, and the site and data stay yours if we stop.
Questions
- How much is a one-page website in Hong Kong?
- About HK$3,000–8,000 on the market; templates can be cheaper and custom design dearer. Our One-page is HK$2,900, a fixed price, with Chinese and English and the copy written for you.
- Do I keep paying every year after the site is built?
- Usually: the domain, hosting and certificate cost something each year, and some firms charge maintenance on top. Ask what the second year costs and what it covers before you sign.
- How long does a website take?
- A one-page site usually takes one to two weeks, and one with a catalogue four to six, depending on when the words and photos are ready.
- Is building it myself on a template platform much cheaper?
- Usually in money, but you write the copy, take the photos, set up the phone layout and Google yourself, and keep it updated. For a busy owner, having it made often works out better.
