One-page websites: who they suit and what they cost
A one-page website puts what customers want to know in one place: what you do, prices, your work and how to reach you. For a shop that sells through WhatsApp and Instagram it is often the quickest, cheapest first website.

What a one-page website is
The whole site is one page: customers scroll down and they have seen it all, with no menus to jump between. Many Hong Kong tutors, studios and makers use one in place of a pinned Instagram post, linked from their Instagram bio and WhatsApp business profile.
Who it suits, and who it doesn’t
Suits: small businesses with a handful of services or products that take orders by message, such as tutors, classes, studios, wedding and event services, and makers with a few designs.
Less suited: shops with dozens of products and new ones often, or that need customers to pay online. Those need a catalogue or an online shop.
What to put on it
From top to bottom, customers usually want to know, in this order:
- One line on what you do and where
- Services or products, with a price or “from HK$…”
- Your work or customers’ photos
- Common questions: timing, place, how to pay
- One-tap WhatsApp, reachable from anywhere on the page
What it costs
On the Hong Kong market a one-page site is about HK$3,000–8,000 (the range So Marketing publishes). Templates with your own copy cost less; having the copy written, both languages done and photos coached costs more. Domain and hosting then cost something every year.
Our One-page is HK$2,900, a fixed price, ready in two weeks: we write the copy, in Chinese and English, with two rounds of changes before it goes live, and afterwards you change words and prices yourself. After launch it is from HK$280 a month for hosting, domain renewal and daily backups.
Will Google find it?
Google indexes a one-page site like any other. Within a few weeks of launch, searching your shop name usually finds it. To be found sooner, put the link in your Instagram bio, Facebook page and Google Business Profile, and ask partners or past customers to link to it from their sites.
To show up for many different searches (each service found on its own), more pages help. A one-page site can gain pages later, or be upgraded to a site with a catalogue.
Questions
- Is a one-page website bad for SEO?
- For searches on your shop name and main service, one page is enough. To have each service found in different searches, more pages help, and you can add them later.
- Can a one-page website be in Chinese and English?
- Yes. Our One-page includes a Chinese and English switch, with both languages written.
- Can I upgrade to a site with a catalogue later?
- Yes. Going from One-page to Catalogue costs the difference, HK$3,700; nothing you paid is wasted.
- How long does a one-page website take?
- Usually one to two weeks. Our One-page is ready in two weeks.
